Five or six shots fired at Campbell police
CAMPBELL
No one was injured when a man wearing a black hoodie fired five or six shots at Campbell police officers on Jackson Street from the area of Booker Avenue and Douglas Drive at about 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Police had responded to a report that a 4-year-old was wandering around on Jackson and had cleared that call when the shooting incident occurred, said Lt. Kevin Sferra, one of the officers involved.
The man fled on foot and escaped after jumping a fence behind Jean Street in the Michael J. Kirwan Homes. Campbell police are continuing to investigate the incident.
