Public's help sought identifying Liberty robbery suspect


LIBERTY — Police are investigating an armed robbery reported shortly after 6 p.m. Monday from a Dollar General on Logan Way.

An employee reported hearing a scream from a customer before turning around to see a man holding what appeared to be a sawed-off shotgun. The employee said the man demanded money and took an undisclosed amount of cash from the register before fleeing, police said.

Witnesses described the suspect as a white male wearing a ski mask. One witness said he appeared to have light-colored or gray hair.

After initially running away, the suspect reportedly fled along Logan Way in a black SUV.
