Monday, April 25, 2016

LOVELAND, Ohio (AP) — Firefighters say one person died and two other people escaped serious injury from an early morning house fire in southwest Ohio.

Miami Township Fire Chief Steve Kelly says crews responded to a call of flames and smoke before 4:30 a.m. today in the area near the northeastern Cincinnati suburb of Loveland, in Clermont County. A man and a woman got out of the house but told authorities a third person was in the basement.

Kelly says the man was pulled out of the basement and taken to a hospital, where he died. Kelly couldn’t confirm immediately the cause of death but suspected it was from smoke inhalation.

Another man was transported to the hospital and was released after treatment.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
