The death of a 1-year-old girl in Mercer County has been ruled accidental due to drowning, according to the Allegheny County Medical Examiner.
The Vindicator’s broadcast partner 21 WFMJ-TV reported Friday that Pheylin Cline was found Wednesday face down in a neighbor’s above-ground pool on Andrusky Road in Cool Spring Township.
A neighbor told TV reporters he heard people at the home across the street calling the girl’s name so he went to help. That’s when his wife saw the child’s body in the pool about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The girl was rushed to a Pittsburgh hospital, where she died just before 2 a.m. Thursday.
