Congressman go one-on-one with business owners
BOARDMAN
Two congressmen talked to area business owners, professionals and centers of influence this morning at Holiday Inn in Boardman.
U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan of Howland, D-13th, and U.S. Rep. Bill Johnson of Marietta, R-6th, discussed what's happening in Washington today from discussion on the Zika virus to economic development. The event was hosted by Talmer Bank and Trust.
"We talked about the new hotel going in in downtown Youngstown," Ryan said.
Ryan also told The Vindicator he is still working to get Claudia Hoerig, a Newton Falls woman accused of murdering her husband in 2007, back to the area to stand trial.
"I just spoke to the assistant secretary of the Western Hemisphere," he said. "We will be working this until she gets back here ."
