WARREN

Nick Painter pitched seven innings for the Raiders, allowing five hits, striking out three and walking zero Tiger hitters. Painter threw 71 pitches, including 51 strikes. Mark Herron went 2 for 4 with a run scored as well. Nick Badanjek went 2 for 3 with a run scored for Howland in the losing effort.

Mathews 3, Bristol 0

VIENNA

Anthony Oulton pitched all seven innings for Mathews (9-1, 7-1 Northeastern), striking out five and allowing zero walks in the win. Daniel Canter had two hits, including a two-run double to extend the lead in the bottom of the sixth.

Lakeside 2, Lakeview 1

LAKEVIEW

Jay Longholter pitched all eight innings for Lakeside, walking two and striking out three. Santiago scored two runs for Lakeside, one in the third inning and one in the eighth to seal the win. D.J. Morvay pitched for Lakeview and gave up four walks and struck out six. Andy Black scored Lakeview’s only run in the sixth.

Poland 4, Fitch 1

POLAND

The Bulldogs’ Dan Klase was the winning pitcher, giving up three runs and one walk and striking out four. Eric White earned a save, pitching one inning and striking out one batter. Pad O’Shaughnessy led the Bulldogs with two runs, two RBIs and a triple. Jared Burkert went 2 for 3 and had one RBI for Poland. Jared Kapturasky took the loss for Fitch, giving up nine hits and striking out seven. Dominic DiFransesco drove in the only run for the Falcons.

Mineral Ridge 9, Lowellville 7

LOWELLVILLE

The two sides traded the lead five times before Ridge pulled away in the fifth inning. Cole Tidswell drove in Devin Ritchie on a groundout for the go-ahead run. Lowellville’s Nate Solak hit an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh to bring the Rockets within two, but that was as close as they got. Mineral Ridge’s Jacob Carfolo picked up two RBIs on three hits. Aaron Frantz got the win while allowing seven runs on 11 hits. Frantz walked three and struck out four.

Crestview 7, Springfield 6

EAST FAIRFIELD

The Rebels (11-1, 5-0 ITCL Red) trailed in the bottom of the seventh 6-4 before a three-run rally gave Crestview a walk-off win. Joel Fitzsimmons hit an RBI triple and after a Jake Wick fielder’s choice, Devin Turvey reached on an error to bring home the winning run.

Boardman 4, Canfield 0

CANFIELD

Coleman Stauffer tossed a complete-game, six-hit shutout as Boardman (6-7, 3-0) downed Canfield (2-7, 0-4). Lou Cardona, Dom Stilliana and Gavin Strines all notched two hits for the Spartans, while Nick Stamp had a double. For Canfield, Alex Thompson and Joe Delucia each had two hits. Joe Machuga worked three innings and took the loss on the mound.

Champion 14, Brookfield 3

WARREN

Lucas Nasonti, Michael Turner and Drake Batcho all had three hits and three RBIs for Champion, while Aaron Williams struck out 11. Rem Rable and Bailey Slyke also had two hits for the Golden Flashes and Logan Brown had two RBIs. Josh Summerfield had two hits for Brookfield.

Western Reserve 5,

MCDONALD

Western Reserve scored four runs in the seventh inning to down McDonald. Will Marlowe went 4 for 4 with two RBIs, while Jeep DiCioccio and Jacob Clark each had two hits. Dom Velasquez went six innings and allowed one run on two hits for the Blue Devils, while McDonald got 6 2/3 innings from Ben Carkido, who allowed just one earned run of the five total that were surrendered.

Lisbon 10, Columbiana 2

COLUMBIANA

The Blue Devils jumped out to a 6-0 lead after two innings and cruised from there. Justin Sweeney went 2 for 3 with three runs scored and starting pitcher Noah Barnes went the distance giving up six hits and striking out four.

BEAVER TOWNSHIP

South Range got the win despite recording just five hits and three of the Raiders’ runs were scored on suicide squeezes. Madison Weaver limited East Palestine to two hits, gave up no walks and struck out for. She also knocked in a run with a triple. Felecia Gaeta had a triple and Morgan Czopur hit a double. East Palestine’s Carlee Biegenwald worked six innings and gave up a walk and no strikeouts.

Garfield Heights Trinity 10,

GARFIELD HEIGHTS

The Eagles’ record dropped to 1-4 after a North Coast League loss on the road. No other details were reported.

Austintown Fitch 2, Ursuline 1

AUSTINTOWN

Fitch pitcher Alex Franken allowed only one run and one hit while striking out 10. Ursuline took the lead in the first after Cassandra Hanuschak’s suicide squeeze. Fitch picked up a run each in the second and third innings. McKenzie Luknis and Lainie Simons each hit a double, with Luknis picking up an RBI. Ashia Walker-Forest had an RBI single. Fitch catcher Emily Haggerty threw out the potential tying run at second base in the sixth inning. Megan Ross had the lone hit for Ursuline.

Hubbard 11, Edgewood 5

HUBBARD

Hubbard recovered well after losing a five-run lead. Edgewood scored all five of its runs in the fifth inning to tie the game. Hubbard’s Addy Jarvis got on the mound in relief and allowed no further hits or walks the rest of the game and struck out eight. Jarvis also was 3 for 5 with two doubles and three RBIs. Annie Zagoric also hit two doubles for Hubbard.

Jackson-Milton 9, Sebring 8

SEBRING

Taylor Shali had three hits, including a double and Katie Rago had three singles to help lead the Bluejays (2-10) to a road win over Sebring (2-9). Smith had three doubles for Sebring in the loss.

CANFIELD

Ashley Cornelius threw a two-hit shutout, striking out five Canfield hitters in the process. Miyah Mitchum and Paige Dill each hit home runs for the Spartans (5-4, 2-2 AAC Red). Sydney Aey also went 3 for 4 in the win. Canfield (11-2, 5-1 AAC Red) received two hits each from Jill Baker and Amelia Manenti.

Howland 6, Harding 0

HOWLAND

Mercadezz Morrow had three RBIs for Howland and Emily Darlington had three runs in three at-bats. Hannah Kowach got the win for the Tigers, pitching seven innings and striking out six. Long took the loss for Harding, giving up eight hits and six runs. Powell and Rose led the Raiders with two hits each.

McDonald 11,

Western Reserve 4

MCDONALD

Rachel Ward went the distance, striking out six, walking one while picking up three hits at the plate to go along with two RBIs in the win for McDonald (7-1-1, 5-0 ITCL Blue). Cheyenne Titus and Kerrigan McDermott each had two runs for McDonald while Jenny Stubbs had a triple and three RBIs for Western Reserve (5-4, 4-2 ITCL Blue).

Crestview 11, Springfield 8

EAST FAIRFIELD

Springfield scored five runs in the seventh inning, but it wasn’t enough to complete the comeback. Brittany Coblentz had a homer and a double for the Rebels (4-1 ITCL Red) while Trinity Boston had two doubles in three hits. Nikki Bovo had two hits, including a triple and two runs for the Tigers (6-4, 2-2 ITCL Red).

Mineral Ridge 12,

Lowellville 11, 8 innings

LOWELLVILLE

The Rams trailed 8-2 after three innings but came back in part due to Macey Garland’s three hits, five RBIs and two runs scored. Noelle Bukovina also went 2 for 4 with a double and three runs scored. Kim Schilling got the win, striking out nine Rockets. Lowellville’s Hannah Johnston went 3 for 5 with three RBIs and three runs scored.

Brookfield 3, Champion 2

CHAMPION

McKenzie Zigmont struck out 10 Brookfield hitters but it wasn’t enough for the Golden Flashes. Brookfield took the lead in the fourth after a lead-off double from Bailey Drapola, Alisha Quinlan knocking a single to right and Taeyanna Ashley knocking a bloop single to shallow right — a lead Brookfield didn’t give up.

Cardinal Mooney 15,

Western Reserve 0, 5 innings

YOUNGSTOWN

Sydney Kocher, Bella Stanko and Gia DiFabio had two hits apiece while Bridget Sweeney scored three runs for Mooney (3-7). Sydney Shugart pitched a two-hitter, striking out five in the win. Western Reserve’s Brittany Hovan broke up Shugart’s no-hit bid in the fourth with a single.

Minerva 2, Salem 1

SALEM

Hannah Reusser pitched a complete game for the victory and struck out 12 Quakers. Mady Phillips hit a triple in the top of the sixth for Minerva to score the game-winning run. For Salem, Clara Janofa hit a triple, while Katie Moore and Emma Minamyer had the other two Quakers hits.

Mathews 7, Bristol 3

VIENNA

Meredith Grimes blasted a solo home run and knocked in two more runs with a triple for the Mustangs. Nicole Watts, the game’s winning pitcher, allowed three runs on five hits and two walks while striking out seven. At the plate, Watts got two RBIs off a triple. Bailey Hall was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Bristol’s Kendyl Switzer hit a two-run home run.

Struthers 18, Niles 3

NILES

Khaylah Brown carried Struthers, going 4 for 4 and scoring five runs. Emily Grandy had three triples and a single to help lead Struthers offensively. Nine of the Lady Cats’ runs were scored in the first three innings, and seven hitters combined for 20 hits and 15 RBIs in the game’s five innings. No stats were reported for Niles.
