GIRARD — A man was booked into the Trumbull County jail on a warrant Tuesday evening after purportedly punching a woman and knocking her teeth out.

Jonathan Cunning, 24, of Youngstown is charged with felonious assault. He is being held on a $250,000 bond.

Police and emergency medical personnel responded to Stull Avenue Sunday. There, a 28-year-old woman told police she knocked her teeth out when she fell down the stairs, according to a police report. However, police later heard from hospital officials that the woman admitted Cunning had punched her in the mouth with a closed fist.

Officers interviewed the woman again and she stated Cunning and his friend came to her home early in the morning. The woman said Cunning refused to leave and seemed intoxicated, police reported. The report says Cunning then punched her in the mouth, causing her to fall to the floor. Cunning’s friend called an ambulance for the woman, according to the report.
