Stabbing and shooting reported over Warren weekend

WARREN

A developmentally disabled man, 23, of Youngstown, suffered stab wounds to his arm, back and rib area, and another man, 22, of Struthers, suffered a gunshot wound to his leg in separate incidents in the city over the weekend.

Police said the disabled man was apparently stabbed by another man with special needs at a home on Federal Street Northwest at 4 a.m. today.

The victim ws taken to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital, and the suspect was taken to St. Joseph Warren Hospital for an evaluation and then transported to another facility. No charges have been filed against him.

In the other incident, one victim was taken to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital after being shot in the leg from an incident on South Feederle Drive Southeast at 10:20 p.m. Sunday.

A second victim, 20, of Prentice Road in West Farmington, is mentioned as having a “major injury,” but no information was provided on what type of injury or where he was taken.
