Closed housing sales up in Mahoning, Columbiana, down in Trumbull

Mahoning Valley’s housing market continues to show growth.

Closed housing sales in Mahoning County increased 3.5 percent in March 2016 from March 2015, according to data recently released by the Youngstown/Columbiana Association of Realtors. Pending sales in the county saw an even larger increase of 22.9 percent.

New listings in the county dropped 11.2 percent, and the inventory of homes for sale dropped 12.2 percent.

The average sale price in the county increased 0.5 percent year-over-year to $106,693.

Year-to-date closed sales are up 10.8 percent up over last year.

In Columbiana, closed sales increased 27.1 percent, and pending sales were up 65.1 percent in March 2016 over March 2015.

New listings in the county were up 8.4 percent, while the inventory of homes dropped 20.2 percent year over year.

The average sale price in the county increased 39.3 percent to $122,364.

Year-to-date closed sales in the county were up 9.7 percent over last year.

In Trumbull County, closed sales dropped 6 percent year-over-year in March, while pending sales increased 9.9 percent, according to data released by the Warren Area Board of Realtors.

New listings in the county decreased by 9.9 percent. The inventory of homes dropped 8.8 percent.

The average sale price in the county increased 7.2 percent to $91,361.

Year-to-date sales are up by 0.2 percent over last year.
