Ohio sees record number of new business filings


COLUMBUS — Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted today announced 10,478 new entities filed to do business in Ohio during March 2016.

The previous record was achieved in March 2015 when 10,102 entities were formed.

In 2016 so far, 2,978 more businesses have filed than at this point in 2015.

About 60 percent of businesses filed online in March.

More than $1.1 million has been saved by entrepreneurs in the last six months due to a 21 percent fee reduction.
