Fitch student to compete in Regional gymnastics competition

Neighbors | Submitted.Christy will compete April 15-17 as a member of the Ohio State Gymnastics team.
Fitch Sophomore Stefani Christy is used to balancing school along with her extensive gymnastics schedule, as she has been at it for nine years. All of her hard work seems to be paying off as she was recently selected for the Ohio State Gymnastics team.
Christy, who trains at Olympics Dreams Gymnastics in Liberty, will compete April 15-17 at the regional competition in Kentucky.
Only the top eight per age level are elected to represent on the Ohio State Team. Christy will be one of 400 girls coming together from six different states to compete in the regional competition.
“I was very surprised to hear I made the team. I was just focused on doing my best at the time,” Christy said.
Christy also added that she is excited to have her best friend, Kelly Seidle, who was also selected for the Ohio State Team, by her side at regionals.
Christy is focused in the classroom as well with a 3.92 GPA. She is also a member of the Fitch track team and participates in the pole vaulting event.
