Man with Youngstown runaway shot by Alabama police

FAYETTE COUNTY, Ala.

One Youngstown resident, Chase A. McKinney, 19, was shot in the right shoulder while he and a 17-year-old female, a runaway from Youngstown, fled police in Alabama late Wednesday.

The female, Cassidy Marie Francis, who was driving the car, was reported missing by her mother late Tuesday morning, according to Youngstown Police Chief Robin Lees. She faces an attempted murder charge for trying to hit police when she crashed through a road block, as well as numerous traffic violations, said Walker County, Ala., Sheriff James E. Underwood.

McKinney was shot by police when the pair crashed through the road block. Both are in custody, Underwood said.

McKinney, who court records said has a Rhoda Avenue address, has a warrant from Mahoning County Common Pleas Court for misuse of a credit card
