Shepherd of the Valley needs workers

Shepherd of the Valley will host a job fair to recruit staff for all five locations and its home health agency. Management will be available to interview and hire on site.

The job fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Shepherd of the Valley, 5525 Silica Road.

Those interested should bring photo identification, and for traveling positions, proof of auto insurance.

Ohio EPA offers tool for businesses

The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has a new tool for small businesses to help them identify if environmental permits, licenses or registrations are needed.

The new and improved Permit Wizard is available and can be accessed at ohioepa.custhelp.com/app/opa.

Seminar for artists set at McDonough Museum of Art

There will be an Arts Means Business: Copyright and Contracts for Art Professionals free seminar from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 7 at McDonough Museum of Art, 525 Wick Ave.

The session will give a general primer on copyright law.

It also will teach artists how to protect their intellectual property by reviewing common contractual clauses and uncovering their meanings.

The seminar also will cover copyright issues, contract basics and licensing issues.

Fire prevention seminar scheduled

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber will have a fire safety and prevention seminar from noon to 1 p.m. Oct. 7 for National Fire Prevention Month. The event, sponsored by City Machining Technologies, will take place at Ciminero’s Banquet Center, 123 Main St.

ODNR staff to discuss abandoned mines

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources will host open-house meetings starting Oct. 19 to discuss proposed abandoned mine land projects in 17 Ohio counties.

ODNR staff will discuss the environmental and public health and safety issues associated with abandoned mines.

The Mahoning and Columbiana counties’ meeting will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 19 at 3601 Newgarden Road.
