LANCASTER, Ohio (AP) — Police say a couple in their 80s were found with gunshot wounds in a suspected murder-suicide at their Ohio home.
Lancaster police say the man called a relative to say he’d shot his wife and was going to hurt himself, and the family member then called police about 1 a.m. today.
Police say they found the 83-year-old woman on a bedroom floor, and she died at the scene. Her 83-year-old husband was found on a bed and was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Police say a handwritten note was found at the scene. They didn’t immediately release details about the note or possible motives.
Police records listed the man as the suspect and his wife as a victim in the shooting.
