NEW CASTLE, PA.

“The Only Thing That is Constant is Change,” a mixed-media exhibition by Noele Datillo Reynolds of Harmony, is on display at The Confluence coffee house, 214 E. Washington St., downtown, through Nov. 12. A free public reception will be Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The exhibition is presented by Arts & Education at the Hoyt, a subsidiary of Hoyt Center for the Arts.

While working predominantly in ceramics, Reynolds discovered that mixed media allows her to create a personal connection to her work.

“The organic forms that I create in clay are taken from nature, the truest example of growth and change that surrounds us,” she said. “The found objects and personal memorabilia provide the context for me that ceramic in its pure form did not satisfy. The textures and layers that they create tie the past with the present.”

Reynolds received a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Kent State University in 1990 and a master’s degree in art education from Carlow University in 2000. She interned with the Hoyt in 2000.

She is currently working on a master’s degree in ceramics through Edinboro University.

Reynolds had exhibited her work regionally at the Panza Gallery, Fein Gallery and the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. She is the co-founder and president of Cranberry Artists Network and has been an art educator with the Seneca Valley School District for 22 years.
