The state Controlling Board released $98,450 Monday for a new beach pavilion at Mosquito Lake State Park in Cortland.

The 30-by-48-foot day-use pavilion will provide a place for family gatherings and other events. According to documents, the space will be accessible for residents with disabilities, accommodate up to 60 people and include lighting, electric hookups and a concrete floor.

ATEC Construction Inc. of Boardman is handling the work, which is expected to be done by the end of March.

In other business, lawmakers released more than $68,000 for renovations at Compass Family & Community Services in Warren.

The funds will be used for improvements to 3,000 square feet of space, including a waiting and reception area, nurses station, doctor’s office and exam rooms.

According to documents, the new office also will have “two dosing windows to dispense Methadone and Suboxone treatments to clients, along with five counseling offices to provide necessary group and individual counseling services.”

Additionally, the board approved $1.4 million in Community Housing Impact and Preservation Program funding for low- and moderate-income housing programs across the state. The total includes $90,000 for housing improvements in Campbell and Struthers.
