The Canfield High School Soccer Boosters honored the senior members of the Canfield High School boys soccer team during Senior Night on Oct. 6.

Family, friends, teammates and classmates recognized the 12 senior players including, David Montezari, Justin Jickess, Alex Shaer, Alex Schill, Jowad Atway, Andrew Griswold, Tyler Young, Brandon Seybert, Ben Fueur, Christian Hume, Trevor Wilson and Jeff Joseph.

Canfield High School student Cara DeChurch sang the National Anthem prior to the game. Canfield High School student council provided the flowers for the players’ parents.

The senior team members were introduced at Bob Dove Field before the varsity game versus the Boardman Spartans.

Montezari was escorted by his parents Tony and Mary, along with his three siblings; Jickess was escorted by his parents Dean and Christine, with his banner carried by his aunt Stacy Strichek; Shaer was escorted by his parents James and Andrea, with his banner carried by his sister Cecilia and brother Jack; Schill was escorted by his parents Frank and Dorothy, with his banner carried by his sister Ashley; Atway was escorted by his parents Neal and Suha and his sisters Rayann, Danna, Jenna and Layah; Griswold was escorted by his parents Gary and Maureen, with his banner carried by his sister Jessica Zamary; Young was escorted by his mother Sheri, with his banner carried by his sister Britney; Seybert was escorted by his mother Mary and grandfather Art Leach, with his banner carried by his sisters Emma and Carmen; Fueur was escorted by his parents Joel and Tammie, with is banner carried by his brother Daniel; Hume was escorted by his parents Carole and Brian, with his banner carried by his sister Victoria; Wilson was escorted by his parents Don and Marla, with his banner carried by his brother Ben, sister Marina and niece Kylie and Joseph was escorted by his parents Jeff and Denise, with his banner carried by his sisters Nicole and Alexa.

The players and their escorts walked through the double line of their teammates after they were greeted by Head Coach Phil Simone.

As part of the celebration, before the game began, the 12 senior members led their team in running through a hoop banner which recognized the seniors.

The Canfield High School Soccer Boosters hosted a dinner in the high school’s cafeteria after the varsity game for the families and teammates of the 12 senior team members. The junior class team members parents organized the dinner to honor the senior players, as is the Canfield High School soccer tradition.
