Campbell man charged after neighbor's dog is shot

CAMPBELL

Police have charged a Campbell man after he reportedly shot and killed his neighbor’s dog.

Brandon Stores, 29, faces a second-degree misdemeanor charge of cruelty to animals and fourth-degree misdemeanor charge of discharging firearms.

Police responded to Princess Street Wednesday after Stores called and said the dog was attacking his 12-year-old nice.

A police report states that the girl had a chipped tooth from when she said the dog knocked her to the ground. The dog, a 25-pound Rottweiler mix, died at the veterinarian’s office after being shot four times, according to police.

The Rottweiler mix had reportedly escaped and was roaming the neighborhood along with a Newfoundland belonging to the same family.
