Tim Ryan congratulates Paul Ryan on being named House speaker

WASHINGTON

U.S. Rep. Tim Ryan, D-13th, congratulated the more famous Ryan in Congress – U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, R-1st, of Janesville, Wis. – on being named speaker of the House today.

“He is a bright, articulate member and I wish him the best of luck,” Tim Ryan of Howland said. “I look forward to working together to making the House a productive institution once again, one that gets positive things done for the American people and prepares our nation for the future.”

The local congressman also thanked former Speaker John Boehner of West Chester, R-8th, for his years of service.

“There is no doubt that over the years Speaker Boehner and I have disagreed on many issues, but I have always believed that he tried to do what was best for the United States of America and the state of Ohio,” Ryan said. “I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to Speaker Boehner for his 25 years of public service and my best wishes to him in his next endeavor.”
