Second person dies in fall from Warren’s Buckeye Building

A second person has died this year as a result of a fall from the a high-rise building owned by the Trumbull Metropolitan Housing Authority.

A man, 43, who had addresses on the 9th floor of the Buckeye Building, 250 Tod Avenue NW, and on Stewart Drive Northwest, was found dead in the courtyard at 4:36 p.m. Sunday.

A resident from the Tod Building next door to the Buckeye Building said he saw the man fall and called 911.

Police found a chair against the railing of the balcony of the man’s room.

The man’s sister also told police she had spoken to the man earlier that day and he told her he was having suicidal thoughts and she was on her way to the apartment to take him to the hospital.

A woman, 51, fell to her death from the sixth floor of the Buckeye Building in March. Police said they believed the woman’s death was suicide, and they did not suspect foul play.
