Mahoning County elections board has new moble app for smartphones

YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County Board of Elections’ new free app for smartphones provides a variety of voting information including directions to polling place, sample ballots and election results.

“We firmly believe that in order to meet our obligation to facilitate voting and promote democracy, we had to have an app,” board Director Joyce Kale-Pesta said today.

The app is the first of its kind in the state, she said. There was no cost involved with the app, she said.

To obtain the app, search “Mahoning County Votes” on Google Play or the Apple app store. Also, visit the new board of elections’ updated website – vote.mahoningcountyoh.gov – and scan the QR code.
