Experts on Lake Erie’s algae troubles are gathering in Toledo this weekend.

The Rotary Club of Toledo is sponsoring the conference designed to provide information about the algae blooms and discuss what solutions are out there.

Some of the speakers include officials from the U.S. and Ohio environmental protection agencies, university researchers and water- treatment plant operators.

The algae blooms on Lake Erie are becoming an annual problem and threaten drinking water, tourism and aquatic life.
