Scripture is living word of God

Scripture is living word of God

Psalm 1:1-3 reads, “How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he mediates day and night. And he will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither, and in whatever he does, he prospers.”

God’s blessings remain with those who seek Him, walk in His ways and follow the commands of His Word.

Scripture tells us in Psalm 119:89 that “Forever, O Lord, Thy Word is settled in heaven.”

It is unchangeable, unmovable, remains the same for this age and ages to come.

Scripture contains the living Word of God, and obeyed, brings the blessings of the Lord as we delight in Him.

Our human nature battles against submission to the law of the Lord. We are rebellious by nature, and want our own way.

A submitted heart will surrender to the plans and purposes of the Lord, and delight in the law of the Lord knowing the result is life and peace.

Notice that the psalmist referred to delighting and meditating in the law of the Lord.

To delight is to “take great pleasure” in something and “to be satisfied greatly.”

The word “meditate” speaks of “deep contemplation and pondering” to bring revelation and understanding.

When one walks in a close relationship with the Lord, the hunger and thirst for Him and His Word fills our spirit and soul with His overflowing Presence.

It becomes a constant place of spiritual nourishment for our lives.

Reading and meditating in Scripture provides a strength and peace as the Living Word is placed in our hearts. It brings a continual flow of love, grace and correction needed to keep us through the struggles of life.

Without it, life is stagnant and so is our relationship with the Him.

The world and its ways will enter our hearts and our lives will exemplify the same.

A recurrent stream of His Presence will free us from “spiritual stagnancy” and release a powerful and fresh flow of spiritual life.

Scripture tells us that obedience is better than sacrifice and obedience carries with it great reward.

When we obey the Word of the Lord, whether socially accepted, comfortable or not, that obedience will carry a reward.

We are trees of righteousness planted so that He may be glorified.

Our lives will be as trees, planted by the living streams of water, producing good fruit unto the Glory of the Lord.

The scripture declares that it is a firmly planted tree.

To be firmly planted means that the planting was in good soil, watered and nourished and the roots are connected strongly to a source. The roots are deep into the soil.

This tree may bend, it may blow in the wind, but its roots hold it steady through all kinds of storms and seasons.

A tree planted by the water is a beautiful sight, its leaves are lush, because it receives from the sun, shade, and streams of water.

Seasons are appropriated times in our lives where there something special occurs.

Fruit comes forth in its season. Summer is the best season to enjoy the fruits of the land and fresh garden vegetables are picked.

Some of the fresh fruits are canned and preserved for later. In that process the taste is the same, harvested in summer but still tasty in winter.

Our fruit will in the Lord is intended to endure.

Let’s not forget that it all begins with a seed. The seed planted in our hearts by the Word of God, and grows with constant sustenance from Him.

Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. We can’t bear fruit from ourselves but must be in the vine.

Life can be difficult, but the Lord is greater.

There are storms, but He will calm them.

There are giants that attack, but He is our giant destroyer.

We may be weak, but He is strong.

We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, and we overcome through Him. Stand strong in the Lord and in the Strength of His Might and He will fight for you. Trust also in Him and He will do it for you, and you will prosper in all that you do in and through Him.
