Organizers say former President Bill Clinton will visit southwest Ohio to commemorate the 20th anniversary of an international peace agreement that was worked out near Dayton during his first term in the White House.
The Dayton Peace Accords finalized at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base on Nov. 21, 1995, ended a war in Bosnia.
Dayton will honor the longtime diplomat who brokered the deal by dedicating a plaza in memory of Richard C. Holbrooke on Nov. 18. Clinton is scheduled as a keynote speaker the following day at the Dayton Peace Accords at 20 Conference on the University of Dayton’s River Campus.
The Bosnia and Herzegovina foreign affairs minister and the U.S. ambassador to that area are among other officials scheduled to participate in the commemorative events, which conclude Nov. 21.
