Warren and Niles to provide water to energy plant in Lordstown

LORDSTOWN

The mayors of Warren and Niles appeared at a news conference to announce that both cities will provide the power generation plant Clean Energy Futures with 2.5 million gallons of water per day.

For Warren, it will mean $1.8 million per year in water sales and about $2 million annually for Niles.

Warren will also bill an estimated $600,000 annually for wastewater treatment.

Construction of the $900 million plant is expected to begin later this year.

The news conference was held at the site where the plant will be built in the Lordstown Industrial Park off of state Route 45.
