UPDATE | Female suspect charged in East Side shooting


YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown police have taken a suspect into custody after a shooting on the East Side this afternoon and are searching for two others.

Andrea Perry, age and address not given, is in custody, charged with felonious assault, said Detective Sgt. Chad Zubal. Police have also issued felonious-assault warrants for Maurice Christian and Terrian Christian.

Police responded to the 1400 block of Woodcrest Avenue about 3:40 p.m. for a report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found a man shot lying halfway in the street in front of one of the apartments. The man had been shot in the leg and stomach and was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. Zubal said the man remains in critical condition late tonight.

The victim is in his mid-20s.
