The newly renovated Jeanne D. Tyler Grand Ballroom at Stambaugh Auditorium will open with a formal dedication event Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m.

The public is invited to the dedication, and to tour the entire building afterward. The event is free, and tickets are not necessary.

The ballroom, on the lower level of the auditorium building, received a complete makeover, part of a larger renovation project of the building.

The dedication event will be led by Matt Pagac, general manager of Stambaugh Auditorium; Jeannine Donatelli, director of donor relations; and Terry Cloonan, board president. It will include:

Formal recognition of all donors to the Ballroom Renovation Project.

Acknowledgement of Jeanne D. Tyler’s contribution of $500,000 toward the project.

Video presentation featuring several community leaders sharing Stambaugh Auditorium memories.

Guest speaker Jim Tressel, president of Youngstown State University.

Honoree awards presentation to two recipients.

Complimentary hors d’oeuvres by Inspired Catering by Kravitz will be served. Refreshments will include Stambaugh Auditorium house wines.

The renovations began in July 2013 and were completed in March. They include a complete kitchen restoration, an expanded entryway with handicapped-access ramp, new west wall with storage space and a service hallway, two wing walls, a new stage and new lighting, decor and carpeting.

The ballroom is available to rent for events such as wedding receptions, fundraisers, dinners, lectures and business meetings. For information, call 330-747-5175.
