Warren woman found shot to death

WARREN

Police are investigating a likely homicide at the Riverview Motel, 3060 Parkman Road NW.

Police were called to the motel about 11 a.m. by the motel manager for a female found on the floor of her room.

It was time for the woman to renew the room for another night, so the manager checked on her, police said.

When police arrived, they determined she was deceased and had been shot. The woman is 35 years old and is a Warren resident, but her name is being withheld pending notification of relatives, police said.

If her death is ruled a homicide, it will be the second of the year in the city.

Teachers assaulted

WARREN

Nicholas Wiseman, 18, of Montclair Street was arraigned Thursday in Warren Municipal Court on charges of felonious assault and misdemeanor menacing and criminal damaging, accused of assaulting two female teachers and damaging school property at Warren G. Harding High School on Tuesday afternoon.

A judge set bond at $7,500 and entered a not-guilty plea for him.

One teacher was bruised and went to the hospital for treatment. The other teacher did not report injuries.

Police said Wiseman pushed one teacher after she took a phone from him. He threatened to assault another teacher and then pushed her with his forearms, knocking her to the floor and causing bruises, police said. He also broke the lock on a cabinet to get another of his phones back, police said.

He fell to the ground and the males punched and kicked him. Another man came along and pulled the other males off of him. The suspects fled in a vehicle, he said. The man “had bruises all over his neck and head,” police said.
