Warning: Boardman police warn residents about phone scam
BOARDMAN — Boardman police officials are warning township residents to be aware of a possible scam that has been reported.
The police department recently unveiled a new CARE Calls Program to check on the welfare of residents who sign up for the service.
Someone reportedly has been contacting elderly residents asking for personal information that they claim is for the program. Police say the calls are not coming from the department, and that they do not call people to sign up.
