On Oct. 9, the Robinwood Lane Elementary School family celebrated fall festivities at their Annual Fall Festival in Boardman Township Park.
Teacher Nicole Hagerty took on her first year with the task of being in charge of the Annual Fall Festival.
Hagerty said although this festival has been going on since before she began teaching at Robinwood, she wanted to revamp the festivities so she started from scratch for the event.
Parents and students enjoyed pizza, cookies, snacks, crafts, a hayride, a chinese auction, a 50/50 raffle and more, all thanks to the giving community of Boardman.
“Everything was pretty much donated – all the pizzas donated from everywhere in boardman,” Hagerty said. “Everything here is donated from different people throughout the community.”
Hagerty, herself, baked 20 dozen cookies for the students.
Toni Brue came from Texas Roadhouse, bringing activities for coloring and school supplies for children, and coupons and opportunities for prizes for parents.
Brue said the Annual Fall Festival was a great opportunity for Texas Roadhouse to participate with the public.
“It’s an awesome way for us to give back to the community,” Brue said. “We don’t do billboards and big advertising so this is our way to give back.”
Another first year participant in the Annual Fall Festival, parent Monica Bialik, said she was happy help out for the sake of the children getting to interact outside of a school environment – and have fun outside of their allotted half-hour time slot for recess.
“I came in and helped set up – it’s just really awesome,” Bialik said. “It’s a good activity to get the kids together outside of school, to be able to play and get to know each other a little bit better.”
