Singer Carmen: Brother mismanaged my money

CLEVELAND

A Cleveland native and ex-frontman for a 1970s rock band has filed a complaint accusing his brother of mismanaging the singer’s money.

Cleveland.com reported that Eric Carmen, lead singer of the Raspberries, filed a complaint in Cuyahoga County Probate Court. Carmen is requesting that a magistrate order Fred Carmen, an attorney, to pay more than $25,000. The complaint also seeks to strip his brother of his position as trustee of the fund.

Eric Carmen says Fred Carmen made multiple improper transfers, failed to keep proper documentation and paid himself $600,000 in attorney’s fees over eight years.

Fred Carmen says he plans to file a motion denying the allegations and requesting a dismissal.
