Submit details on Christmas services

The Vindicator will publish a listing of area services that are open to the public in observance of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

The list will run on the Religion page Dec. 19.

The deadline to submit information is 5 p.m. Dec. 16.

Information should include the denomination and complete name of the church, address, city or suburb and time of Christmas Eve and/or Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day services.

The information should be accompanied by a name and a phone number for verification or any questions.

Special Advent concert for women

WARREN

Women Walking in Faith of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton will host singer and songwriter Tia Ciferno in a special Advent concert from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Sts. Cyril and Methodius site, 1234 High St. N.E.

The event is about inspiring and encouraging women of all ages to prepare their hearts for Christmas.

A free-will offering will be collected for a local women’s center.

Interfaith choir sets Christmas cantata

HUBBARD

SDLqLead Me Back to Bethlehem: Rediscovering the Joy, Peace and Love of Christmas” will be presented by Simple Gifts Interfaith Choir at 3 p.m. Dec. 6 at First Presbyterian Church of Hubbard, 22 Westview Ave.

The 50-plus voice choir will perform both new music and familiar tunes in this Christmas cantata narrated by Pepper Choplin.

Light refreshments will be served after the performance.

Those attending are asked to donate a nonperishable food item for Hubbard Food Bank.

Journey to Bethlehem

BOARDMAN

Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfied Road, will present “Journey to Bethlehem” from 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 5.

The event will feature a live nativity.

Participants will be counted in the census, meet King Herod, visit with angels, and see shepherds tending their flocks and Wise Men with a live camel.

In fellowship hall, there will be crafts and light refreshments.

Pacesetters event

wARREN

Pacesetters, an outreach ministry, will present a Christmas luncheon speaker, Michael Vance, at noon Dec. 5 at the YWCA of Warren, 375 N. Park Ave. A preacher, Vance ministers in the gift of prophecy.

Admission is a donation of any amount or bring a dish.

Blue Christmas

BOARDMAN

Westminister Presbyterian Church, 119 Stadium Dr., will conduct a “Blue Christmas” service at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The date was incorrect in a previous announcement.

Though Christmas is called the season of joy, it may be a sad time for some who may be grieving a death of a loved one or struggling with issues.

The service will offer support, encouragement and hope.

Those grieving for a variety of reasons will be helped by God’s healing spirit.
