6,000 lose power in Valley on Thanksgiving

Power was restored to the majority of FirstEnergy customers who lost power in Mahoning and Trumbull counties Thanksgiving Day.

As of 6 p.m. Thursday, more than 6,000 customers, most of whom live in the Cornersburg area of the city, were without power. By 9 p.m., power had been restored to all but 24 of those customers, according to information FirstEnergy’s website.

Power was expected to be restored to the remaining customers by 11:30 p.m.

FirstEnergy was still investigating the cause of the outages late Thursday night.
