Police investigate city's 22nd homicide of 2015


YOUNGSTOWN — The body of a man found at the corner of an East Side street early today is being investigated as a homicide.

Lt. Doug Bobovnyik of the Detective Bureau said the body of a young, black male was found partially burned about 1:15 a.m. at Wardle Avenue and Liberty Road.

Bobovnyik said police do not have an identification on the body.

The death is the 22nd homicide in the city in 2015 and sixth this month. Last year, Youngstown recorded 19 homicides.
