Officials at Ohio’s largest military base say a man who ignored guards’ instructions to stop at a security gate prompted evacuation of some buildings, but the base has been determined safe.
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base spokesman Daryl Mayer says the investigation is continuing after a man drove through the gate area at the base near Dayton around 9:40 Tuesday morning.
A base statement says security forces pursued the driver and located the vehicle parked outside a building.
