AUSTINTOWN

Kelley Mills, Austintown Elementary School counselor, was awarded with both the ‚ã‚ãElementary School Counselor of the Year Award and the overall Ohio School Counselor of the Year Award at the All Ohio Counselors Conference in Columbus. These awards recognize OSCA school counselors for their outstanding service to students, staff and families.

Mills was nominated by fellow counselor Penny Callahan. Together they have implemented new programs and made a positive impact on students at the elementary level.

Mills is an active member for both the Ohio School Counselor Association and the American School Counselor Association and believes in the importance of school counselors at every level of a child’s education.

“First and foremost, our goal is to advocate for our students and their families, but I also realize the importance of advocating for our profession and the impact that we have on student success, especially at the lower levels,” Mills said.
