W. PENNSYLVANIA roundup | Saturday’s games

Pittsburgh 45, Louisville 34

PITTSBURGH

Nathan Peterman tossed four touchdowns in the second quarter and Pittsburgh held off a late rally to beat Louisville. Freshman Qadree Ollison ran for 152 yards and a score for the Panthers (8-3, 6-1 ACC), who reached the eight-win plateau in the regular season for the first time since 2009 with the victory. Ejuan Price had five sacks for Pitt, which led by 25 in the first half and withstood a comeback by the Cardinals (6-5, 5-3). Lamar Jackson threw for 141 yards and a score and ran for another after replacing ineffective Kyle Bolin late in the first half. Jamari Staples caught nine passes for 194 yards and a touchdown but the Cardinals saw their four-game winning streak come to an abrupt half.

Robert Morris 21, Bryant 20

MOON TOWNSHIP, PA.

Dalton Easton passed for two fourth-quarter touchdowns but a missed PAT kick was the difference as Robert Morris held on to defeat Bryant. The Colonials (4-7, 2-4 Northeast Conference) had scored three straight rushing TDs to grab a 21-7 lead against preseason conference favorite Bryant (5-6, 3-3) only to have Easton bring the Bulldogs roaring back. The junior quarterback fired a scoring pass to Jose Depadua after Robert Morris failed to convert a fake punt at its 30-yard line. Three minutes later, he did it again, sailing an 18-yarder to John Lavin for the TD to cap a two-play drive. But Ricky Perez’s PAT kick sailed wide left — only his sixth miss this season. Easton completed 12 of 29 passes for 165 yards and set the Bryant single-season passing TD mark with 22. Mathew Barr, Cole Blake and Rameses Owens scored rushing TDs for Robert Morris.

Duquesne 30, Saint Francis (Pa.) 20

PITTSBURGH

Rafiq Douglas matched a career-high with three touchdowns, and Duquesne beat Saint Francis to win its first Northeast Conference title in program history. Douglas had 165 yards on 28 carries with scoring runs of 2, 3 and 6 yards. Dillon Buechel was 17 of 31 for 281 yards passing with a 62-yard touchdown pass to Wayne Capers Jr. for Duquesne (8-3, 5-1 Northeast Conference), which is in its eighth season as an NEC member. Zack Drayer was 12 of 21 with two touchdown passes, but threw three interceptions for Saint Francis (6-4, 4-2). Khairi Dickson ran for 102 yards, and Daniel Adams and Terell Smith had touchdown catches. Drayer threw both touchdown passes in the first quarter to give the Red Flash a 14-0 lead. The Dukes made it 30-14 before Drayer ran for a 1-yard score with ten minutes left.
