Former Ohio teacher gets 15 years in child abuse case

COLUMBUS (AP) — A former elementary school teacher has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for sexually abusing a child.

The Ohio Attorney General’s Office says 51-year-old Lori Anderson, of Wapakoneta in western Ohio’s Auglaize County, was sentenced Thursday in Columbus. She pleaded guilty last month to three counts of sexual battery.

Prosecutors say Anderson and her former husband, 54-year-old Charles Wycuff, sexually abused the child from 1997 to 2003.

Anderson and Wycuff were arrested last year after an investigation. Anderson was an elementary school teacher in Auglaize County at the time.

Wycuff was sentenced last month to four life terms plus 145 years after his conviction on 43 counts of rape, sexual battery and gross sexual imposition.

The cases were moved to Columbus because of pretrial publicity.
