Community cops help tag West Side houses for zoning violations


YOUNGSTOWN — Members of the police department’s Community Police Unit helped to issue several housing and zoning citations on a West Side street Thursday.

Detective Sgt. Pat Kelly, head of the unit, said 22 houses received citations for different violations, 10 cars were ordered to be towed and five houses were red tagged, or ordered to be vacated.

Kelly said the CPU was accompanied by the department’s Vice Squad and the city’s housing department.
