BREAKING NEWS | Mahoning grand jury indicts man in latest homicide, faces death penalty

YOUNGSTOWN — The suspect in the Nov. 6 murder of a Cleveland Street woman in her home is facing death-penalty charges after his indictment today by a Mahoning County grand jury.

Lance Hundley, 46, who has addresses in Youngstown and Warren, was indicted on charges of aggravated murder, attempted murder, felonious assaults and two counts of aggravated arson.

Hundley is accused of killing Erika Huff, 41, and beating her mother inside Huff's home. Police responding to an alarm call about 3 a.m. found a fire inside the home. Hundley saw police and went back inside. He was found by firefighters who called police, who arrested Hundley and charged him that day.

Huff was found dead and her body was partially burned. Her mother was at the home because Huff had triggered her medical alert bracelet.

Huff was confined to a wheelchair because she had multiple sclerosis.

Grand jurors determined Hundley is eligible for the death penalty because Huff died during the commission of two felonies, the aggravated arson and attempted murder.
