Friday, May 29, 2015

LORDSTOWN — The Lordstown-built, 2016 next-generation Chevrolet Cruze will be unveiled June 24, Chevrolet said this week.

General Motor’s best-selling passenger car will be one of 14 Chevrolet models to offer customers better integration with their phones.

The new Cruze will have the eight-inch version of MyLink infotainment system and will be compatible only with Apple CarPlay at the beginning of the 2016 model year.

Apple CarPlay allows drivers to make calls, send and receive messages and listen to music right from the touchscreen or by voice via Siri.

Android Auto compatibility may be available on the eight-inch version of MyLink later in the 2016 model year, officials said.
