Artist will sign cookbooks at center

YOUNGSTOWN

David Schwartz, artist/brainchild of Aunt Bessie and Uncle Guido, characters in the cookbook “Recipes of Youngstown II,” will be at the Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St., from noon to 4 p.m. May 30 to sign copies of the cookbook.

Schwartz has been in the animation industry since 1988, working in many major studios as a director and storyboard artist. He also has directed several animated series and was development art director for Walt Disney TV animation.

He has divided his time between drawing animation storyboards, preparing his first illustrated holiday book published in 2014, having a short story published in an anthology and writing his first mystery novel, “Chagrin Falls.”
