Wheatland firefighters will fill your pool
WHEATLAND
Members of the Wheatland Volunteer Fire Department are beginning their annual summer fundraiser, for which they haul water and fill swimming pools.
The delivery area covers parts of Mercer and Lawrence counties in Pennsylvania and Trumbull and Mahoning counties in Ohio.
Charges are determined by distance traveled.

Penn State alumni to host golf outing
SHARON, PA.
Penn State Shenango Alumni Society will host its 14th annual Golf Scramble on June 13 at the Pines Lakes Golf Club in Hubbard to benefit Penn State Shenango student scholarships and special projects.
Registration will begin at 8 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 9. The cost is $80 per person, which includes 18 holes of golf, a continental breakfast, lunch and dinner, and beverages on the course. There will be a hole-in-one contest; door prize drawings; first-, second- and third-place overall awards; men’s and women’s skill prizes; and a top finishing all ladies team prize.
Sponsorship packages are available. Merchandise and gift certificate donations also are welcome for the basket auction.

Church to offer grief camp for children
CORNERSBURG
Zion Lutheran Church, 3300 Canfield Road, will host a day camp for children who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Stepping Stones to a Better Tomorrow will be offered from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 11 and 12 at the church. A camp also will be offered from noon to 5 p.m. with the location to be determined.
The camp is for children ages 6 to 12 and will include individual and small group sharing. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. Reservations must be made by June 4 by calling Sister Pat Fesler, H.M., bereavement coordinator at Higgins-Reardon, at 330-792-2353, or the church at 330-792-4046. The event is sponsored by Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes and Zion Lutheran Church.
