SPRINGFIELD, Ohio

A state park worker in Ohio and a dog teamed up to rescue a man who got stuck in a muddy lake for close to two hours.

The man apparently was checking on his duck blind at Buck Creek State Park when he got stuck in the waist-deep mud and water Saturday and called for help on his cellphone.

The Springfield News-Sun reports that rescue crews first tried to reach him by boat, but the lake just outside the city of Springfield was too shallow.

Next they sent the man’s dog out to get a rope to him. A state park worker then crawled on his belly through the mud to help pull the man out.
