“Community Connection” (Sunday at 6:30 a.m. on 21 WFMJ-TV and 11 a.m. on WBCB-TV): The Teen Straight-Talk organization is once again hosting the “Strengthening the Family” conference in the Valley. Mary Duke, founder of Teen Straight Talk, and Dr. Tonia Farmer Pitts, president of the board, will join host Madonna Chism Pinkard to discuss the conference.
Next, Rev. Dr. Lewis Macklin and Atty. Yulonda McCarty Harris of Jack & Jill of America will discuss the 11th annual Beautillion, which will recognize eight young men from the community. Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica has set the dates for its 17th annual Italian festival: July 23-26, on the church grounds at 343 via Mount Carmel, near Choffin Career Center.
Entertainers will include Gianni Monti of Florida and the Cavalieri Reali band of Cleveland.
