“Community Connection” (Sunday at 6:30 a.m. on 21 WFMJ-TV and 11 a.m. on WBCB-TV): The Teen Straight-Talk organization is once again hosting the “Strengthening the Family” conference in the Valley. Mary Duke, founder of Teen Straight Talk, and Dr. Tonia Farmer Pitts, president of the board, will join host Madonna Chism Pinkard to discuss the conference.

Next, Rev. Dr. Lewis Macklin and Atty. Yulonda McCarty Harris of Jack & Jill of America will discuss the 11th annual Beautillion, which will recognize eight young men from the community. Also, neuro-ophthalmologist Dr. Marc Levy will discuss age-related macular degeneration in a satellite interview.

“Increase the Peace” (today at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday at 6:30 a.m. on MyYTV): Host Andrea Mahone willl be joined by Angie Cameron and Shaun Renato from Meridian Community Care Share summer camps and afterschool programs.

“A Conversation with Dee” (Sunday at 8:30 a.m. on WKBN-TV): Host Dee Crawford will be joined by Jackie Hays and Monsignor Robert Siffrin, both members of ACTION. They will discuss the organization’s 13th annual banquet. which will take place April 23.

Festival dates

YOUNGSTOWN

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica has set the dates for its 17th annual Italian festival: July 23-26, on the church grounds at 343 via Mount Carmel, near Choffin Career Center.

Entertainers will include Gianni Monti of Florida and the Cavalieri Reali band of Cleveland.
