YOUNGSTOWN — Nine Eastern Ohio county Democratic Party chairmen and chairwomen are endorsing ex-Gov. Ted Strickland’s 2016 bid for U.S. Senate.
Among those who endorsed Strickland today were Mahoning County Democratic Party Chairman David Betras and Columbiana County Chairman Denny Johnson.
The other county chairmen/women come from Jefferson, Belmont, Harrison, Washington, Gallia, Guernsey and Lawrence.
Strickland and Cincinnati Councilman P.G. Sittenfeld say they’re running in the Democratic primary next year for the U.S. Senate seat held by U.S. Sen. Rob Portman, a Republican seeking re-election.
