Former 3 Doors Down bassist set for DUI trial Monday

D’IBERVILLE, Miss.

Former 3 Doors Down bassist Todd Harrell is set to go to trial in D’Iberville on Monday on a charge of second-offense driving under the influence of a substance other than alcohol.

The 43-year-old Harrell is under house arrest in Nashville on a charge of vehicular homicide by intoxication.

The Sun Herald reports Municipal Judge Albert Fountain will presided over the trial.

Harrell was arrested on the second- offense DUI charge Feb. 18, 2014, after a caller reported a man slumped over the steering wheel of a sport utility vehicle. Harrell was in a family member’s SUV at 7 p.m. at an intersection and was visibly impaired, D’Iberville police said at the time.

Bristol Palin says she’s engaged

ANCHORAGE, Alaska

Bristol Palin says she is engaged to Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer.

The daughter of former Alaska governor and former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin said in a blog post Saturday that Meyer came to Alaska to film the “Amazing America” reality show with her mother last year. She says Meyer is wonderful with her son, Tripp.

Meyer was awarded the Medal of Honor in 2011.
