CANFIELD

Judd Rubin moved to Canfield two years ago with his family and is now the principal at Canfield Village Middle School.

The Canfield Board of Education met Tuesday and his appointment was unanimous. He was awarded a three-year contract with a yearly salary of $79,000. He has 20 years experience and had been principal of W.S. Guy Middle School in the Liberty school district for the last four years.

“The community has really taken us in and it felt real comfortable,” Rubin said. “I saw the opening and thought it was a great opportunity to be here with my children.”

Canfield schools Superintendent Alex Geordan said former CVMS Principal Mara Banfield left the district and is now with the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center.
