Youngstown school board formally hires Stephen Stohla as interim superintendent

YOUNGSTOWN — The city school formally hired Stephen Stohla as the district’s superintendent at a meeting this afternoon.

Stohla, who formerly served as superintendent of Brookfield and Alliance school districts, will be paid $60,000, half of outgoing Superintendent Connie Hathorn’s salary after he retired and was rehired.

Stohla’s contract begins Wednesday and runs for six months.
