MIU IV needs volunteers

GROVE CITY, PA.

Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV is seeking summer volunteers to provide tutoring for adult learners in Mercer County.

Tutors will provide one-on-one or small-group instruction to adult students.

Areas of instructional focus include reading to children, writing a business letter or resume, completing a job application, preparing for the GED test, managing time, setting goals and speaking English with fluency.

Tutors work alongside regular classroom instructors to maximize learner outcomes. Training and materials are free and the hours are tailored to fit the volunteers’ schedules. Background check, FBI and child-abuse clearances are required.
